  • Description:

In 1934, the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz race car with compressor engine, built for the 750 kg formula and designed by Nibel and Wagner, marked the beginning of Daimler-Benz's most successful racing era to date. The car, known internally as the W25 and later dubbed the "Silver Arrow", won its very first race, staged at the Nurburgring. During its lifespan (1934-1936), the car was constantly modified and fitted with increasingly powerful engines. All of the engines had eight cylinders - the increases in performance were achieved primarily by enlarging the displacement. 1935 season race car with modified engine and increased engine output.
